When health deteriorates to such a degree that a person becomes very frail or ill an application for high dependency care must be made to the Aged Care Assessment Team for approval for high dependency care. High dependency care (previously known as 'nursing home' care) provides 24-hour nursing and personal care for the very frail or ill, with support for the activities of daily living - dining, showering, continence management, rehabilitation, medications etc. |

Clients are encouraged to personalise the room. Whilst space is restricted, personal mementoes, photographs, bed covers and ornaments can be fitted into most rooms. Consideration is needed regarding space in a room where mechanical lifters and greater manual handling need is required. Fees:High Dependency Care has a basic daily care fee that is set by the Department of Health and Aging. For more information about the daily care fees please download the Residential Cost Care Form. Please note this form is updated every six months and the current form is effective 20th March 2011. Clients admitted directly to high dependency accommodation are required to pay an accommodation charge with the same criteria as for admission to low dependency accommodation. If you have any questions regarding High Dependency Care then please contact the placement officer at the Residency on 8561 0400. |
