How I can help

Independent retirement units have been offered by Barossa Village since its inception in 1960. There are over 153 units in several locations throughout Nuriootpa, Tanunda and Angaston. Barossa Village will continue to expand this popular option of independent accommodation for retired people.

The Benefits of our Units

Barossa Village believes retirees want to enjoy the diversity and interest of community life, so our units are spread in a number of locations around the Barossa. Residents are completely independent but you will have the security and practicality of a shared garden, regular maintenance and communal support.

What facilities do the units offer?

The units range in style and offer one, two and three bedroom layouts. Most have the convenience of two-way bathrooms, built in wardrobes and modern kitchens that are easy to work in. All cottages offer either carports or garages.

Who lives in our units?

People like yourselves - aged over 55, our residents choose a smaller home and less maintenance and security worries, without passing up any of their independence or freedom.

What happens if I am unwell?

The great thing about our units is that you have every available support at the the touch of a phone. Barossa Community Home Care is a complete care and support package - meals, health, home maintenance - operated by Barossa Village which enables you to stay in your unit for as long as you like.

How much does independent unit living cost?

All units are purchased on a license to occupy basis with a once off premium within a range affordable to all people. There is also an inexpensive maintenance fee charged. This single weekly fee takes all the worry out of home upkeep forever by covering council rates and taxes, water rates, home and garden maintenance and full replacement of permanent utilities such as air conditioners, hot water service and stove.
