Donations & Bequests
It is only with your support that we are able to continue to provide the best possible care for frail and elderly residents of the Barossa.

Bequests

By including Barossa Village in your will, you can make a real and lasting difference to the lives of people living in the Barossa for generations to come.

Barossa Village is a not for profit public benevolent charity which has been providing the Barossa with a range of aged care services for nearly 50 years. This has been possible due to the philanthropic culture of the Barossa community, whose spirit of generosity continues today.

Bequests help us to plan for the future and can either be general or directed to a specific area of interest. When creating your will, talk to your legal advisor about how to include a bequest to Barossa Village.

In Memoriam Donations

When a loved one dies, an In Memoriam donation is a special and thoughtful way to remember them while supporting an organisation which has helped to care for them.

By requesting that donations in lieu of flowers be directed to Barossa Village, you show your support for the care and services that we provide to so many older Barossans. Simply notify the funeral director and request that the funeral notice includes "Donations may be made to Barossa Village" and we will provide donation envelopes at the service. The next of kin are always notified of the names of those who have donated in memory of a loved one. The donation amounts are kept confidential.

General Donations

All donations to Barossa Village, no matter how large or small are highly valued and gratefully received. Donations including In Memoriam Donations, are acknowledged with a personal letter of thanks. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible and a receipt is issued.

Volunteering

  • Would you like to help elderly people?
  • Do you have a particular skill or passion you would like to share?
  • Do you have time during the week when you would like to make a real difference?

Barossa Village has an extensive Volunteering Program whereby you can support the care and lifestyle needs of our frail and elderly residents.

All of our volunteers provide an invaluable service through contributing their time and/or skills to complement and enhance the work of our wonderfully dedicated staff. Volunteers provide an important link between our care services and the local community. They greatly assist in providing our residents and clients with lifestyle choice, independence and quality of life.

Our volunteer coordinators can help match your interests and skills to a volunteering role that you will enjoy.

Volunteering roles can be found at the Barossa Village Residency and with our clients in the Community. These roles may include:

  • Supporting Residents, either at the Residency or visiting them in their own homes.
  • Lifestyle and other group activities
  • Bus Driving
  • Music Therapy
  • Creative Art Therapy
  • Companionship
  • Taking clients out on outings
  • Assisting clients with their shopping.
  • Craft work and gardening
  • Supporting people during Allied Health Appointments.

New volunteers are always welcome and there are numerous possibilities depending on your interests and expertise. Training support is also provided when joining our volunteer program.
